RUA 1 Day Introduction Workshop

What is this workshop about?

This workshop aims to raise understanding and awareness that people who have an intellectual disability have the same wants and needs in the areas of Identity, Friendships, Relationships and Sexuality as everyone else.

What topics will this workshop cover?

This one day workshop will provide information  on :

· Our understanding of Sexuality

· Human Rights Based Approach

· The Legal Context in Ireland

· Consent and Capacity

· Ethics and Values

· PLISSIT Model

 .HIgh 5 Alive Model

 

Who should attend this workshop?

This workshop will suit professionals and family members who would like to know how to talk with and support people who have an intellectual disability in the area of Identity, Friendships, Relationships and Sexuality.

The workshop will help participants to become more comfortable with the subject and support and develop a person centred support within these areas.

 

 

 What will I receive upon completion of the course?

 You will receive a certificate of attendance
